Below we have provided resources on several different treatment options that take into consideration: Risk Categories, T-Score, Cancer Growth, Gleason Score, and Grade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"328\" data-end=\"646\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #274472;\"><strong>Drugs<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.erleada.com\/\">ERLEADA<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0(apalumide)<\/a> &#8211; Used w<\/span>hen prostate cancer has spread to other parts of the body but still responds to treatments that lower testosterone, or when the cancer has not spread but no longer responds to treatments that lower testosterone.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.ca\/en\/cancer-information\/cancer-types\/prostate\/treatment\/hormone-therapy\"><span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">Hormone Therapy (Androgen Deprivation Therapy)<\/span><\/a> &#8211; Reduces the amount of androgen (male hormones) or completely blocks androgens to reduce\/shrink the size of the prostate cancer tumours.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/provenge.com\/\">PROVENGE<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> (sipuleuci-T)<\/a> &#8211; Cell-based personalized immunotherapy for advanced prostate cancer patients.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/xofigo-radium-223-therapy\/\">Xofigo Radium-223<\/a> &#8211; Used to treat prostate cancer that has spread to the bones and no longer responds to hormonal therapies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xtandi.com\/\">XTANDI\u00ae (enzalutamide)<\/a> &#8211; The surgical removal of an entire kidney and surrounding tissue using minimally invasive techniques to ultimately remove the prostate cancer tissues.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.ca\/en\/cancer-information\/cancer-types\/prostate\/treatment\/surgery#:~:text=Radical%20prostatectomy,salvage%20radical%20prostatectomy.\"><span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">Radical Prostatectomy<\/span><\/a><\/span> &#8211; The removal of the prostate gland and surrounding tissues, including the seminal vesicles (may also remove lymph nodes from the pelvic region).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopkinsmedicine.org\/health\/treatment-tests-and-therapies\/robotic-prostatectomy\"><span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy (using <em>da Vinci<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em> Surgical System)<\/span><\/a><\/span> -The removal of the prostate and surrounding tissues assisted with precise, robotic-assisted technology (supposedly less painful and blood loss than traditional, open surgery).<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"PageTitle\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/urology.ufl.edu\/patient-care\/robotic-laparoscopic-urologic-surgery\/procedures\/robotic-nerve-sparing-radical-prostatectomy\/\">Robotic Nerve-Sparing Radical Prostatectomy (using CO2)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; The removal of the prostate gland assisted with precise, robotic-assisted technology (this procedure attempts to preserve as much of the surrounding, prostate nerve structures).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #274472;\"><strong>Radiation<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Poppins; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.ca\/en\/treatments\/treatment-types\/radiation-therapy\/external-radiation-therapy#:~:text=External%20radiation%20therapy%20is,with%20chemotherapy%20(called%20chemoradiation).\">External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT)<\/a> &#8211; The prostate cancer is actively monitored by a healthcare team to determine treatment options (typically only recommended when it is localized prostate cancer).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Poppins; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/about-cancer\/treatment\/drugs\/cabazitaxel#:~:text=Cabazitaxel%20is%20a%20type%20of,spread%20(advanced%20prostate%20cancer).\">Cabazitaxel<\/a> &#8211; Navigation Centre for Clinical Trials throughout Canada.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\">Clinical Trial: Focal Therapy (Laser ablation \u2013 MRI guided robotic).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Poppins; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcf.org\/about-prostate-cancer\/prostate-cancer-treatment\/immunotherapy-prostate-cancer\/\">Clinical Trial: Immunotherapy<\/a> &#8211; Uses either a vaccine such as Provenge\u00ae or some other drug to stimulate the body&#8217;s immune system to attack the cancer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Poppins; font-size: 15px;\">Clinical Trial: Photodynamic Therapy injects a drug which seeks out the cancer and when irradiated with a laser or some form of light the drug then becomes activated to attack the cancer.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.ca\/en\/treatments\/tests-and-procedures\/cryosurgery\"><span style=\"font-family: Poppins;\">Cryosurgery<\/span><\/a><\/span> &#8211; A procedure where an extremely cold gas or liquid freezes the prostate cancer cells to destroy them.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/about-cancer\/prostate-cancer\/treatment\/high-intensity-focal-ultrasound-hifu\">HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound)<\/a> &#8211; A procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to destroy prostate cancer cells (not covered by OHIP).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Poppins;\">Hyperthermia \u2013 Transurethral Hyperthermia (Available in Germany).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Poppins;
